Mindfulness Coaching specialises in using mindfulness meditation and the Co-Active coaching model to guide individuals in transitioning from the ‘doing’ to the ‘being’ mode of mind. This shift fosters a sense of balance and empowers individuals to effect positive change in their lives, enhancing their personal and professional development.
In the ‘doing’ mode, we do or think about doing, often multi-thinking about several things simultaneously. This routine helps us get things done – achieve goals, solve problems, and change things to make them more like we want them to be. Conversely, the ‘being’ mode does not focus on actions or thinking about past or future actions but instead uses our five senses to be present in the moment. Our thoughts, ideas and actions are not at the forefront. We push our problem-solving and analysing minds into the background. We are fully and flexibly present and actively engage with all information in front of us. This process slows our premature judgment and leads to better decision-making as we can better grasp the situation holistically. The ‘doing’ mode often comes online automatically, whereas the ‘being’ mode requires practice.
By mastering the art of being present in the moment, we can learn to switch between the ‘doing’ and ‘being’ modes per our needs. This flexibility can significantly enhance our ability to achieve our life and work goals. Moreover, numerous scientific studies have established a strong correlation between mindfulness, improved physical and mental health, and better relationships at home and in the workplace.
